I. Call To Order - at 4:15 pm
In attendance: Vicki Soderberg, Sally White, Joy Kelly, Brian Valerie, Norm Heidner, Christine Balentine, Carter Johnson, Mike Weinell, Jen Pagliei, Christy Watson, Vanessa Stone.

IV. President’s Report
a. CUEA Calendar of Meeting Dates — Vicki reviewed the calendar.
b. Orange County Budget Demonstration: Friday, Sept. 5, 4:00 — Representatives will be encouraged to attend.
c. Elementary Surplus — Seven schools had a surplus of teachers which was only realized in late August due to the untimely returning of kindergarten packets by parents.
d. Results of CTA Survey were distributed.
e. CTA $20 Reverse Dues Check Off — The “opt out” form is available online from CTA.
V. Treasurer's Report Norm Heidner - Treasurer
CUEA Budget for 2008/09 — Vicki Soderberg briefly summarized the report. Norm Heidner will give a more detailed presentation at the next Rep Council meeting.
VII. Executive Directors Report
Legal Advisory on Privacy on the Workplace — Christine Balentine explained that employees have a legal right to an expectation of privacy regarding items in their desks, cabinets, etc. Employers may look in these areas only if they have a “reasonable” work related cause.
IX. PAC Report -
A. PAC Chair for 2008/09 — Sally White moved and Christy Watson seconded that Joy Kelly be appointed the Political Action Chairperson for the 2008/2009 school year. Motion passed unanimously.
B. PAC recommendations for CUSD School Board Election — Joy Kelly reviewed the results of the candidate interviews that were conducted by the Political Action Committee last week. Christy Watson moved and Jen Pagliei seconded that Executive Board recommend to Representative Council that CUEA endorse Erin Kutnik, Andrea Kooiman, and Dr. Duane Stiff as candidates in the CUSD Board of Trustees November election. Motion passed. As a substitute motion, Carter Johnson moved and Sally White seconded that we endorse Dr. Stiff separately. Motion passed.
